The Founder and Chairman of Nicholas Okoh Foundation, The Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh has led a delegation of the Foundation to Bishopscourt Abuja to donate some food items for some needy people of the Diocese of Abuja.

This is in accomplishing part of the Foundation’s vision and mission of reaching out to the vulnerable and needy as a result of the pandemic and other factors which have affected their livelihood.

Archbishop Okoh, who came in company of two members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, The Ven. Festus Nwafili and The Ven. Kingsley Obuh, the Operation Manager, The Rev. Canon Joseph Ichipi, the Secretary, Mrs. Rotimi Ese Susan and other staff of the Foundation, presented items which included 50 bags of Rice, 50 bags of Beans, 50 cantons of indomie noodles, 50 bottles of groundnut oil, 250 tubers of Yams and corns. The Operation Manager of the Foundation, Canon Joseph said the Board of Trustee with the leadership of the Chairman considered the state of the country and the suffering of the people and decided to reach out to 50 households with the items being presented.

Receiving the team, Primate Ndukuba commended Okoh and his Foundation for displaying the love of God. He recalled the statement of Jesus Christ that whoever does this kind of kindness to those who cannot do it for themselves do it for Him and prayed for Divine blessing and continued provision for the Foundation. He said: “I am believing God that what Baba Okoh and his Foundation are doing this evening is something that God will remember them for and bless them because what you are going to receive, nobody is asking you for receipt, nobody is asking you for thank you, but if you say thank you, it is good. It is being done as a demonstration of the love of God. It is being done in order to share with you the little that God has provided. It is being given in order to show that they care for us, and we pray that God will remember them, and this foundation, and the people that are working with him so that God continually supply to them so that they will always have enough to meet the needs of the people and the work that God has committed to their hands.”

The Welfare Coordinator of the Diocese of Abuja, Dr. Peter S. Nmadu, appreciated The Most Rev’d Nicholas D. Okoh for the kind gesture and prayed for more of God’s blessings on him. He also thanked the team with the congregations singing praises to God.

Okoh, who is the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja said he did what he could and will continue to do what he can to meet people’s needs. He called on all to join hands in sharing one another’s burdens. He said: “We may not be able to do much, but the idea is, take small, give your neighbour, and if we continue doing like that, we may solve some problem, not all of them. And it will make some people happy for a while until another time again. So we are happy to do it, and we pray we will continue to do it.”

The Nicholas Okoh Foundation has reached out to many dioceses with gifts of food and other items to assist those who are going through hard times. The Dioceses they have recently visited include the Dioceses of Gwagwalada and Kubwa in FCT. Others are Dioceses of Kwoi, Kafanchan, and Zonkwa in Kaduna State.
