The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria Most Revd Henry Ndukuba has told stakeholders of Nigeria that before peace and development could return to this country” there should be an urgent need to go back to the drawing board to birth a new Nigeria”.

He made this statement during a special Second Year anniversary interview he granted to the Church of Nigeria Television Advent Cable Network Nigeria Television (ACNNTV).

He declared: “There is a need for us to go back to the drawing board – the politicians the religious leaders and our traditional rulers to birth a new Nigeria, a Nigeria in which everybody will be equal before the law a Nigeria in which everybody has rights to live and be assured of having something to do for a living in Nigeria.

“We should be free to worship our God in any part of the country without any fear or intimidation.

Nigeria belongs to all of us, there should be no sacred cows so long as there are special tribes that are better than others so long  there are a group of people that think that  they  are the real owners  of this nation while others are just an addition to them there will always be problems .”

Primate Ndukuba, therefore, said he was optimistic that these problems could be solved through “spiritual solution, social solution, political solution, and structural solution”.

He said,”  When we are talking about these solutions we are talking about how all of us as a  group can have confidence in believing he or she has a stake in this nation  where all of us shall be free and live to fulfill our destiny then a new Nigeria will be born..”

Primate Ndukuba has words of comfort for those Christians facing every form of persecution:  “I want to assure them that God cares and this church cares we pray for them we stand with them and we encourage them those beloved ones didn’t die for nothing they didn’t die in vain it is a matter of time vengeance belongs to God he is the only one that can avenge but we are not looking for vengeance we are looking for God’s own solution that through their suffering and deaths and the pains that they are going through God will see their tears Hear their cries and intervene in our nation and give us a new future and a new direction.

“We are believing that there shall be a turnaround and we want to ask them to draw consolation from God and we want  also to encourage them to hold on to their faith and look up to God the church will continue to support and encourage and stand by them.”
