The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, the Primate of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion),has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for its efforts in fighting COVID-19 pandemic holistically.
In a sermon he delivered at the Anglican Church of the Epiphany, Area 11, Garki, Abuja, on Sunday the 14th of June, 2020. His Grace Ndukuba said government’s doggedness in the fight against the virus was commendable
He therefore encouraged Nigerians to abide by the safety advisory of the government in order to ensure a total victory over the novel Coronavirus.
His sermon tilted ‘The Indispensable Christ’, taken from the gospel according to St. John 15:1-5, Primate Ndukuba admonished Nigerians to abide in Christ, stating that it was only Christ that could save mankind from the threatening situations of life.
He also advised world leaders to put their trust in Christ as “it is obvious from the COVID-19 pandemic that no nation of the world can boast of its security, political, technological or economic powers without God.”
He challenged Christians on the need for growth, productivity and fruitfulness which the Trinity Season of the Church symbolizes, stating that the liturgical colour green was a symbol of life, productivity and fruitfulness.
He further admonished them to remain steadfast in God in these challenging times stating that “God takes His children through a pruning process in order to bring out the best in them.”
He used the occasion to pray for Nigeria for healing, recovery and restoration and divine intervention.
