Topic: WORSHIP FOR CLEANSING

Text:Luke 5:12-16

5:12 And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

5:13 Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.

5:14 And He charged him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.”

5:15  However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.

5:16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.

15:6  And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

15:7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

15:8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?

15:9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’

15:10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

STUDY:

Worship refers to the act of totaI reverence of fear for God. It involves praises, prayers, service, offering and bowing to the King of kings and Lord of lords. When we worship in truth, we enthrone God and He in turn uplifts us for good. Worship opens the gates of grace to man and helps us to offer ourselves to the glory of God. The leper in our text, approached Jesus and fell on his face (i. e. worship) and in prayers, requested for cleansing (v.12). And the Lord had mercy on him, reached out and healed him(v.13).

In the spirit of this portion of Scriptures, we declare that today is our day of cleansing from all forms of spiritual, physical, financial, social, material and academic leprosy. And the authentic channel through which to activate this declaration is ‘true worship’ (John 4:24; Matt. 2:11). “O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our maker’ (Psa. 95:6). Do this in your closet, place of worship or in any convenient place. Then expect the miracle of this ministration in Jesus’Name. Amen.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I believe, I bow, and I ask for total cleansing this day andalways. Amen
