“Brethren God has graciously taken us out of 2020 and taken us into 2021. Today coincides with the feast of circumcision and naming of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the Christians, that is a major celebration and being the feast of the circumcision of Christ, it is for the Christians to enter into the New Year circumcised, purified, set apart, and in fact enter into covenant with our God.
And when we consider the year 2020, it was a year never witnessed in the world; the year of the Pandemic, devastation, disaster, pain, fear and uncertainties surrounded us. Yet it was year that god manifested that this world belongs to him, and the year that God showed us mercy and helped us. The tendency is for people to project into 2021, what they had experienced in 2020, but God gave us times and seasons so that he can start afresh with us. The things you experienced in 2020 shall not be the same for 2021. I want assure you that this is a new beginning, a new dawn, a new page, a fresh beginning and God has given us this time, not only to start afresh but also for him to be glorified. He will manifest his power; he will show us what he had booked for us. Do not consider the things that are past, what you will do are to forget the past. It may even be very wonderful, for many people were blessed that may wish for 2020 to continue, but whatever has a beginning has an ending. It is ended and it is over, this is a fresh start.
As I waited upon the Lord for what he is saying to me, the church and the nation. What are you saying to our families? The word of the Lord to us is that 2021 shall be our year of divine completeness, God’s restoration, move and power, and whatever God does is perfect. He is the only one that is good and perfect and in him every perfection flows. God is never God of half measures and whatever he begins he will surely bring to a completion. And I believe God that in this year 2021, God, in double and triple fold, will complete whatever he has promised and purposed for each and every one of us. Even the things that were withheld, this year shall be a year of turnaround in the name of Jesus Christ. Yet this year will come with its own challenges, it will come with its own sadness, but in it all know that God will work in each situation to bring to pass, what he has purposed for you.
When we look at that word of completeness, it has to do with fullness, perfectness, fulfillment, accomplishments, or indeed to bring through a process to a set goal and end. God will bring into completion his own plan and purpose, he will fight our battles, but in it all, he will bring us into glory and increasing and maturing in knowing and working with him. This is the season with God. As we ponder at what the Lord is bringing to us, let inform us that 2021 will be strategic for our nation Nigeria. In the first place, politically, every politician should know that this is a year of strategizing. If you miss 2021, just forget your political career, don’t think that it will just happen. This is the year to plan, do all your scheming so that by 2023 you will harvest. Indeed the political landscape will receive reshaping.
Economically, challenges still lies there, the impact and tremor of insecurity will surely impact on this nation, economically, socially and otherwise. Except the leadership takes the political will to do what they ought to do, except those who are implementing the policies, it will be very challenging. Nigeria has wonderful policies but until we take time to implement them, it will be very difficult for us. Because God is taking us through a process, Nigeria will not collapse, God will uphold us. Indeed even in our inabilities and failures, God shall turn them into stepping stones. There shall turnaround for our nation, families, individual personalities, as we anchor into what God wants to do in our lives. God is going to bring a great transformation. In the Church of God, the door of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ will be opened because the times and challenges walking through last year unto this year have tested the materialistic agenda of the world and all have come to vanity upon vanity. Those who held unto their human wills and philosophies, there will be a proof that the only thing that survives will is the completeness in Christ Jesus. If you lose Christ, you have lost all, and therefore there shall be a harvest of souls, restoration for our souls, salvation for as many as will look unto the lord. There will be restoration for our health and medical breakthroughs. Restoration of possessions, your, family, your peace, your wealth, your positions that the enemy has stolen from you, this year the Lord says pursue, overtake, and we will without fail recover all. But the greatest joy is that there will complete assurance of our eternal destiny. When all is over we shall be with him eternally. Brethren because of what the lord has purposed to do in our lives that are why he is bringing these words of perfect completeness through his worthy power. If you look at the passage 1Sam 30:9, you see that David when pursued by King Saul went into the Philistines territory and made friends with them and was given a town, Ziklag.
In order to please the Philistines and to cement the friendship David volunteered to fight for them in a Battle. But the Philistines didn’t trust him, so he had to disengage. While was trying to please Achis of Philistines, the enemies attacked ziklag, but David encouraged himself in the Lord. You might have encountered different challenges, bit refuse to give up, draw strength from the Lord. The word of God this morning is rise up. By consulting God first, David showed he was a man that was completely dependent on God. If he had inquired and God said No, David wouldn’t have gone. Maybe it is that we set our heart to seek this God, to depend on him, even when it is so difficult and looks impossible, may it be that we will be obedient.
David asked can we get out of this problem, shall we pursue those who raided us, shall we overcome and be able to recover what was damaged or lost? Brethren don’t assume that you know. For every matter inquire from the Lord. Even the one you feel that you know the answer. God takes pleasure; he is waiting for us to ask him. And in things both great and small there is reward from the Lord. In time of challenges what will comfort you is a word from the Master. God said; pursue for you shall surely, my brother, my sister I am telling you, you shall surely. No matter what may be the stronghold, people might have told you it is impossible, but pursue. To pursue is to identify and follow diligently until you have possessed.
Don’t give up until you have possessed. If it is the will of God, he will bring it to pass. Because when God does anything it is perfect, when he gives joy, it is joy unspeakable. Even in the midst of Anarchy when God says I am with you, he is with you. Your battles are not about you, they are about what God can do.
Brethren I have seen this God at work, and I am persuaded for I know in him we can put our trust. He is the living God; he will surely do what he says he will do for he is not man.
Brethren if we are to obey God to follow through, we need to draw strength from him. This year God will take us through processes; mine will be different from yours but just follow him. In the process of what God is going to do in the near 2021, brethren, be mindful of the people you meet. God may give you surprises you never expected. Help will come from the most obscure and unexpected person. God will give you a testimony of just like that. You won’t be able to tell how it happened. In the days of David, it was an Egyptian slave that his master abandoned because he was sick. Because David took care to him, it was him that led David to the camp of them enemy. Watch out, God will surely appear for your help. This is the year that God will perfect all that he has purposed for our lives, families, in the church of God and in our nation. When he is finished with us, we’ll look back say there’s nothing remaining. Brethren because of God’s divine assurance, we can hold on.
Hosea 6:1 says God will heal us, he will bind us, he will revive us, and there will be resurrection. He will do these for us because he wants to showcase his power over principalities and show us as examples of what God can do. God will manifest himself, as surely as the rising of the sun is, so is the manifestation of God. Because sun will not fail to rise, God will not fail to manifest for you when you when you trust him. He will visit us like the pouring down of rain and will wet the driest part our lives. There will be an outpouring of his rain, the layer and the former. I am believing who drew the map of Nigeria even before it became a nation, who has bound the tribes of Nigeria together and has brought us this far, he is taking us somewhere and 2021 shall be strategic for what he wants to do. Psalm 72:5 -7 the world must honour God because this is his world. God will cause the world to fear him. He will do something in our generation that even the impossible will become possible. The dry land shall bring forth by the power of our God. Brethren if God will do what he wants to do, there’s need to key into what he has provided. Nothing in this world, even in our situation, is perfect or complete hit even in the imperfections and brokenness of our world, God will surely give us completeness and that completeness is in his son Jesus Christ. That is the completeness we are talking about.
In 2021, God has given two things; he has given assurance and as the Scripture says in Jesus Christ was yes, for all promises of are in him Yes and Amen. And so as we hold on to him, everything will come to pass when God says let it be, nothing can change it. The things we need to do in 2021; we need to walk with God in faith, tap into his mercy and release you completely at his disposal (ROM 12:1-2). Offer your bodies and surrender your soul. Make up your mind to be in step with Jesus this year. Study the word of God, it is the compass. If you meditate on it day and night, God will give you good success. It is not every success that is good. Make your mind to work with God. He will always come down to our level and will always pick us up. Only be willing to walk with him. We are complete only in him. Labour in prayer, God’s will can only be discovered in the place of prayer. There are times to cry to God, there are times for contention, there are times you finish then wait to hear him. When he speaks, write it down. The word of God will come timely this year. God is more interested in what he is making out of us, than what we are receiving from him. There is close relationship between character and our destiny, where is taking us. God wants to take us training process that will bring us to perfection. He will not entrust the riches of the power and influence into the hands that he has not trained. When we are conformed into his image God has found a partner.
He is bringing us to our eternal purpose, to completeness in the word of his grace in such a way that the eternal destination will be real to us. To some people, Heaven is just another folktale but heaven is very real and hell is very real. Brethren walk in victory, walk in power. As in Jeremiah 1, God is saying do not be afraid of whatever may come near you this year for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord. May his hand be mighty upon our mouth. He has set us over nati
