Police Command Reshuffled: 140 Senior Officers Moved in Sweeping Changes

The Nigeria Police Force has announced a significant internal shake-up with the redeployment of 141 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to various commands and departments across the country.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, approved the large-scale transfer as part of efforts to restructure the force and enhance operational effectiveness nationwide.

According to an internal memo obtained by SaharaReporters, the redeployment is to be implemented immediately, impacting key units in both urban and rural areas.

Among those affected is Ibrahim Mohammed Agava, now posted to SCID ADS; Akinloye Joseph Oyegade, reassigned to the X-Squad in Osogbo; and Rilwanu Mohammed Dutse, who now heads Legal/Prosecution in Abuja. Ibrahim Aliyu Jauro was moved to Railway in Ibadan, while Anthony Olusola Ojo now serves at ZCID Kano, and Ibrahim Muktar has been transferred to Ugep, Cross River.

Other notable transfers include Aminu Hamza to ONSA North-East, Mohammed Ghazzali Madugu to Ayingba in Kogi, Banawi Ishaku to Nkalagu in Ebonyi, and Clement-Isochikwu Ezejiofor to ONSA South-East.

In the FCT, Benjamin Chidozie Egu has been posted to Karu. Suleiman Oba Kadiri and Juliet Bizienga Egbukonye were deployed to Enugu and Cross River, respectively. Bello Kamba Bello was reassigned to SCID ZFS, Ruth Oluwatomisin Otolori to Iruwa in Oyo, and Celestine Tochukwu Umeh to SID in Anambra.

Other officers redeployed include Osigimo K. Ikoli to DOPS Ebonyi, Halilu Umaru to ZCID Yola, Agboola Adeniyi to Area ‘P’ Lagos, Victor Elijele Izibili to SID Rivers, Jude Nwabugwu Ohaja to SCID Anambra, and Anslem Al to DOPS Kogi. Joy Ugo Elemoke now serves in Bayelsa, Nsikak Nse Effiong in ADS, and Nasirudeen Oyetunji Oyedele at SID Edo.

Further changes saw Smith Olanrewaju Kosebinu posted to Elele in Rivers, while Aderemi Yusuf was named Commandant at PTS Iperu. Sama’ila Zubairu Sani now serves in Jere, Kaduna; Mansur Mohammed Tafida was moved to Ido-Osi in Ekiti; and others like Ogiata Igbineweka Iredia, Enatufe Emmanuel Omoh, and Abdulmajid Isa were deployed to Kwara, Abia, and AFS II.

Also among the redeployed are Danjuma Ragga Akumaji to Geidam in Yobe, Fidelia Lohya Labong to Zone 7 Abuja, Angus Nwigwe to Zone 17 Akure, and Abdulrahman Idris to Zaria. More transfers include officers to units such as Railway, Ekiadolor, Ekwete, Ningi, and DTD Abuja.

Those assigned new duties also include Abdulkadir Wada, Abdullahi Iga Bala, Olawale Asimiyu Tiamiyu, Hassan Lawal Rabiu, Olasunkanmi Alade Musiliu, Inusa Musa Karyah, Reuben Laro Lazarus, Idrisu Mohammed, and Amuda Alabi. Other names on the redeployment list include Ikemefuna Okafor, Suleiman Jibrilla, Gbiwen Richmond Eyituoyo, Kelvin Deleola Ayegbusi, Hussaini Yalwa Mohammed, Francis Gandu, and Christian Nwakal.

This wide-scale reshuffle underscores the police leadership’s renewed commitment to boosting efficiency, ensuring better service delivery, and strengthening law enforcement across all regions of Nigeria.
