The Governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Honourable Tony Nwoye has promised that no citizen of Anambra state will suffer deprivation as long as he is governor.

While campaigning in Dunukofia local government with headquarters at Ukpo Nwoye said no child will drop out of school for lack of money to fund his education nor will childbearing mothers bother about hospital bills after delivery.

Nwoye said as a poor man who was uplifted by God, he couldn’t afford to stand by and see other people suffer want and deprivation.

He said: “I will care for the poor and less privileged. I will pay the school fees of those who cannot afford it and pay hospital bills of those who cannot pay for their treatment.”

He lamented that Dunukofia people have suffered and neglected for no just cause but that will stop.

Nwoye also wondered why Dunukofia sons and daughters who are occupying big positions in government have not made the local government better than what it is currently.

He again said: “Dunukofia is marginalized but that will not continue. Dunukofia needs more impact from the Ben Akabueze (referring to the Special Adviser to the President on Budget and Planning) who hails from the area and who also donated six motorcycles to Nwoye’s campaign.

He thanked the people of Dunukofia for their support and expressed joy that the three major political parties running in the election have collapsed into one for his support.

One of the political leaders in Dunukofia and Nwoye’s major supporter, Chief Vincent Udobi (Ike Dunukofia) urged the electorate to support Nwoye.

He said that since Anambra State was created, no youth has had opportunity to govern the state and this was a golden opportunity to achieve that.

He said: “We have come to repair our state. The youth will do it better. Since the creation of Anambra state no youth has ruled. That is why we have brought out a youth.

“Dunukofia people should support Nwoye especially when their son is also his strongest supporter. One of the highlights of the campaign rally was the donation of six motorcycles to Nwoye campaign organization by Mr. Ben Akabueze.
