Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has issued a strong advisory warning that the safety of individuals or groups entering the state without his knowledge cannot be guaranteed.

In a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, titled “Notice Regarding Unscheduled Visit to Benue State”, the governor urged all intending visitors to inform the appropriate state authorities before making any trips, especially those that could result in political gatherings.

According to the statement:
“The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, wishes to inform the public that he is not expecting any high-profile visitors in the state today. He is currently engaged in key meetings with critical stakeholders to address pressing matters affecting the state.”

Governor Alia cautioned against any unapproved visitations that could spark political activities, emphasizing the need for prior clearance to ensure security and coordination.

He also made it clear that anyone planning to visit Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps must first obtain written approval from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).

The statement concluded by urging security personnel and members of the public to take note of the directive and support efforts to maintain peace and order across the state.
