Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has been arrested by the Department of State Services. He was arrested over allegations that he owns four properties and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party. He was arrested at the Wuse II office of the DSS on Monday afternoon and is now undergoing interrogation at the DSS Headquarters In Aso Drive. • Cable TV shouldn’t raise tariff after COVID- 19 tax rebate — Minister The Federal Government has revealed plans to end the monopoly enjoyed by cable television service providers, especially Digital Satellite Television, owned by MultiChoice, a South Africa- based company. A former national vice-chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Inuwa Abdulkadir, is dead. He died on Monday morning. Mr Abdulkadir’s death was confirmed by a former senator and his political associate, Shehu Sani. Mr Sani confirmed the death of the politician in a Twitter post. Mr Abdulkadir was a member of the National Working Committee of the APC that was recently dissolved by the party’s National Executive Council. Israel launched a new reconnaissance satellite early Monday, the defence ministry said, its latest asset to be deployed against arch-enemy Iran. “The Israel Ministry of Defence and Israel Aerospace Industries have successfully launched the ‘Ofek 16’ reconnaissance satellite” at 4:00 am local time (0100 GMT), the ministry said in a statement.
