Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have served an impeachment notice on Agboola Ajayi, the state Deputy Governor. The lawmakers accused the Deputy Governor of gross misconduct. Recall that Ajayi recently dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and has insisted on retaining the office. Ibrahim Magu has been suspended as Acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by President Muhammadu Buhari, the BBC reports. Magu spent the night in a police cell at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Headquarters in Abuja. This followed a six-hour grilling by a presidential panel, chaired by Justice Ayo Salami, a former president of the Court of Appeal. Buhari set up the panel to probe various allegations leveled against Magu, following a petition by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Department of State Service (DSS).

The founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, has accused the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), of blocking the reopening of universities. The U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, is set to deport foreign students in the United States whose schools will switch to online classes due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program, SEVP, which is run by ICE, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.
