The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement, moving the deadline to October 2, 2025. The decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The extension comes in response to a significant increase in applications submitted through the official online portal.

According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extra time is necessary to meticulously scrutinize the high volume of applications.

This process is crucial to ensure that permits are only issued to eligible individuals, aligning with national security considerations.

The NPF also stated that the extended period will allow for the continued refinement of both digital and physical verification processes. This is intended to maintain the integrity of the permit system and prevent any potential abuse.

The police have reiterated that the only authorized platform for applying for the permit is https://possap.gov.ng. The public is advised to ignore any unofficial channels claiming to process these permits.

Citizens are also encouraged to report any instances of extortion, hidden fees, or unauthorized processing by calling the dedicated hotline at 08147818871

The Nigeria Police Force thanked the public for its cooperation and affirmed its commitment to balancing public convenience with robust security measures for the safety of all citizens.
