Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Sunday eulogized former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Emeritus Professor Ayodele Falase, for his fifty years of Service to God as an organist.
Prof. Falase has been the organist of the All Saints’ Church, Jericho, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for fifty years.
Speaking at the evening of Organ Recitals to celebrate Prof. Falase’s 50 years of service to the Lord held at the All Saints’ Church, Governor Akeredolu, who is the Grand Patron of the Church’s Choir described the Emeritus Professor as a great man in God’s house.
The Governor noted that the Professor’s work in the House of God, having deployed his talent in the service of God, can never be forgotten.
“We are here not for long talk but to appreciate a great man in this church. As the organist, all the time I have been here, he was more than that to us. He has been a father and our assistant choirmaster.
“Today, we celebrate you. A man whose service in God’s house can never be forgotten. Your work is highly appreciated not just because you do it pro-bono but because you do it excellently well,” The Governor said.
Governor Akeredolu, who said Professor Falase’s exploits can never be forgotten, stressed that he is not only a Professor of Medicine but also a Professor of Music.
He said: “We can never forget your exploits. You are not only a professor of medicine but also a professor of music. We are here to honor a professor of medicine and music.”
“Prof. is a master of pipe organ. He does it to perfection. And his understanding of music is unbeatable. The fact that he has been doing this for fifty years, pro-bono is a lesson for our young ones that everything is not about money.”
