The Bishop Diocese of Okrika, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Enoch Atuboyedia has charged Christians to be involved in church mission and Evangelism saying Evangelism is a statutory responsibility of every Christian.

Rt. Reverend Enoch Atuboyedia who gave the charge in a sermon during his familiarization service to Okrika west Archdeaconry at Saint Mary’s Anglican Church, kalio Ama in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State stated that any church that does not reach out through Evangelism will one day go into extinction.

According to him, one of the primary reasons for the establishment of churches, irrespective of denomination, was to convert repentant souls to Christ pointing out that the salvation of Christians will be defeated and meaningless if it does not lead to the salvation of others.

Bishop Atuboyedia urged Christian faithful to shun ethnic and religious sentiment as well as discrimination while evangelizing, but display commitment in reaching out to all segments of society.

The cleric who spoke on the theme “Not so Lord” challenged the faithful of Okrika Diocese to make it their responsibility to preach the good news of God’s kingdom and ensure winning at least one soul each for God on or before December thirty-first 2021.
