TOPIC: ENABLED BY GRACE
TEXT: Ephesians 6:21-24(NKJV)
- 6:21. But that you also may know my affairs [and] how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you;
- 6:22. whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, that you may know our affairs, and [that] he may comfort your hearts.
- 6:23. Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 6:24. Grace [be] with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
STUDY:
Today’s text highlights that grace is available for us (v.24)[cite: 418]. What enables a man is the grace of God, and no man is able unless he is enabled by God (Psa. 127:1,2). Life is not only about human effort; it is even more about divine enablement[cite: 420].
God assigns grace to every man based on our gives sinner, it is so that he may be saved (Rom. 6:20-23)[cite: 421]. On the other hand, when God gives a man grace to enable him function, it may mean that such a man does not have that ability in himself (Exod. 2:10,14-15 cf 3:1)[cite: 422].
Another dimension of grace is grace for good works (Heb. 4:16) which may expose one to fire but at the same time, one will not be killed by the fire (Dan. 3:27)[cite: 423]. However, ultimately, the single reason God gives grace to anyone is so that such a person will draw others to Jesus (Dan. 3:24-25)[cite: 424]. While we ask God for grace, we must learn never to take the grace of God in vain[cite: 425].
Night will come on every man at some point. It may not be death[cite: 426]; it may be as a result of ageing, weakness or lack of opportunity (John 21:18)[cite: 427]. As a safeguard, we must learn to walk in covenants and always set targets[cite: 428].

Dear Father, please help me never to take your grace for granted, Amen!
