Topic: LAST DAY REWARDS
Text:2 Thessalonians 1:8-12
1:8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
1:10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who [a]believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
1:11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,
1:12 that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
STUDY:
Acts 1:11 tell us that the same Jesus taken up to heaven will come back the same way He was taken up. And He is coming with His reward in His hands (vv. 7b-10; Rev 12:12). Fitting reward will be given to everyone according to his or her deeds. Being banished from the presence and glory of the Lord is a terrible and horrible experience. You cannot afford to be a partaker of such.
These revelations should make every believer to be dedicated to a true relationship with God and a commitment to an unpolluted life and holy living. Having this in his mind, Paul prayed a kingdom-based prayer for the Thessalonian believers that is worthy of emulation (vv. 11-12). We should be engaged in such a prayer, especially now when brethren are busy praying self-centered prayers and receiving-of-physical-things prayers. Many of the prayer topics border only on material things: Contracts, office promotion, financial breakthroughs, marriage, etc. Though these are good requests, but we must also pray that souls be added to the Kingdom, and that we will remain heaven-bound! Beloved, strive to be RAPTURE READY!
