Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on the Church to focus more attention on building men and women on truth for peace to reign in the country.
The Vice President who made the call at the Dedication of the All Saints Anglican Church New Auditorium in Abuja. commended the contributions of the Church to National development.
professor Osinbajo urged Church leaders to continue to build people for God’s kingdom and also encouraged members of the church to see the occasion as a call to the greater work of transforming the entire society.
“The dedication of the physical building called the church must only remind us that the real work of building the church is that of bringing up men and women in the knowledge and nurture of the Lord.“The forces of evil and hate are more vehement than ever. The battle between light and darkness is more intense than ever, but we will prevail.”
He also commended members of the All Saints Anglican Church for giving sacrificially towards building the new auditorium reminding them that God would reward those who contributed towards spreading the gospel of Christ Jesus.
The Vice President who assured that the country would overcome her challenges with the collective effort of all Nigerians irrespective of religious and ethnic backgrounds stressed the need for the Church not to forget its social responsibility of bringing joy and succor to those in need in the society.
In his Sermon, Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican communion Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba called on the federal government to address insecurity and poverty in the country.
Archbishop Ndukuba maintained that the Church would continue to complement Government’s efforts at alleviating poverty and other challenges in the country.
While encouraging the Citizens not to give up on the Nigeria project, the Anglican Primate urged Political office holders, churches, and traditional leaders to remain United and work for the corporate existence of the country.
The immediate past Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican communion Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh tasked church leaders not to only empower their members spiritually but also to ensure economic emancipation for the citizenry.
A special prayer session was offered for president Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, members of the Federal Executive Council, and leaders at all levels.
