The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev’d Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba has appointed the Venerable Dr. Timothy Bako as the Acting Rector and The Venerable Dr Isaac Akut as the Director of Studies and A ssistant Acting Rector of St Francis of Assisi College of Theology and Education, Wusasa, Zaria with immediate effect.
The communication officer of the Church of Nigeria, Korede Akintunde, made this known in a press statement today. He noted that the Primate made these appointments in recognition of their dedication, leadership qualities, and unwavering commitment to the service of our Lord at the College and in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
As the Acting Rector, Venerable Dr. Bako will be entrusted with the responsibilities of overseeing the administration of the college, providing theological guidance, and leading the team at St. Francis of Assisi College of Theology and Education.
In his role as Director of Studies, Venerable Akut will be responsible for overseeing the educational and training programmes within the College. This includes: Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing educational programmes that align with the theological and doctrinal standards of the Church of Nigeria.
Archbishop Ndukuba expresses his confidence that they will both execute these duties with the same excellence and dedication that have characterized his ministry thus far.
He enjoined them to take this appointment as an opportunity to further the work of the Kingdom and to contribute positively to the growth and development of the College.
These appointments became necessary after the Election of the incumbent Acting Rector of the College, The Venerable Dr. Titus Alkali as the Bishop-Elect of Wusasa Diocese at the last Episcopal Synod held in Abuja last month.
Until their new appointments, the Ven. Dr. Bako was the Chaplain of the College while the Ven. Dr. Akut was the Dean of the Academics.
