In a strong admonition to the Federal Government, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has warned against actions that undermine local industries.
Segun Ajayi-Kadir, MAN’s Director General, called for government agencies responsible for regulatory oversight to create a supportive environment for local investments. He also urged caution from key stakeholders, including regulators in the oil and gas sector, regarding the Federal Government-Dangote Refinery issue. Ajayi-Kadir denounced the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s (NMDPRA) claims of poor quality and monopolistic behavior at Dangote Refinery as unfounded.
Emphasizing the vital contribution of local investors like Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) to economic growth, job creation, and national development, Ajayi-Kadir stressed the need for these investors to receive adequate protection and support. He asserted that a major business figure such as Alhaji Aliko Dangote, whose investments span multiple sectors and regions across Africa, deserves full backing to expand further and enhance the well-being of the people.
