The Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West of the Anglican Communion, The Rt Rev Olusola Odedeji has enjoined believers to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ as they celebrate his birth.
Odedeji made the call in a special Christmas broadcast during which he also appreciated all those who have labored over the years to ensure that the gospel is preached and spread across the world.
While wishing his listeners a merry Christmas, Odedeji said, “What should be our concern now is the second coming of Jesus Christ. This time, he is going to judge the world. I will encourage us to prepare for this second coming. ”
He reminded his listeners of the mantra, that proper preparation prevents poor performance urging them to eschew any acts that will not make them acceptable before the Lord.
Earlier in his speech, he noted that Jesus is the reason for the season adding that if Christ had not been born “our salvation would not have been a reality.”
He said, “Christ is born as of today. In him we have a wonderful counsellor, an everlasting father, and the kingdom will forever be on his shoulder.”
Odedejiwho referred to the Bible copiously emphasised that there is no foundation anybody can lay again apart from Jesus that has been laid. “We need to key into the salvation plan of God,” he said
He thanked all those in the Diocese of Lagos West for being supportive of his ministry urging them to “take advantage of this season to move closer to God to appreciate God. Thank you for all that you have done to ensure that Christ is being preached. Will you be prepared? Remember. Proper preparation prevents poor performance.” he said,
