The General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Venerable Dr Paul Dajur has reminded Christians to note that its only God who exalts man and not wealth nor money.Â
He made this assertion as a guest preacher at the Adult Harvest of the fastest growing Anglican Church in the Diocese of Abuja, St. Philip’s Anglican, Gwarimpa where he preached on the theme ” Exceptional Exaltation: Reward and Blessing of Giving” with a text taken from 2 Corinthians 9: 6-15.
In his sermon, Dr. Paul who took his sermon text from Philipians 2: 5-11 highlighted the need for Christians not to go the way of the world by exalting man due to their deep pockets. He noted that this has become the culture even in some churches where persons with questionable characters and scammers are given special interest and attention. He reminded all that according to this bible passage, only God can exalt any man and that every other exaltation is irrelevant in God’s sight.
Ven. Paul sighted that according to this passage, Jesus Christ even though being God Himself, gave all of Himself, glory, resources and life for the purpose of humanity which made His name to be exalted above all. He emphasized that there are numerous gains in giving more than in gathering. “Jesus offered His life on your behalf for you to live” he added.
The harvest chairman, Mr. Obinna Etele appreciated the members of the Church for the sense of unity and focus which has drived the series of harvest which started with the unveing on 11th of June 2023 and climaxing at this Adult Harvest.
