Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed members of the governing council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso.

Makinde announced the appointments in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Friday.

The governor announced that he has appointed a former chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan branch, Professor Ayodeji Omole, as the Pro-Chancellor of the University.

Also appointed are Professor Lanre Olaniyan, Mrs. Titilayomi Ahmadu, Hon. Adekunle Bankole and Mr. Adeosun Olukunle Idowu.

Makinde noted that the appointments of the five people were in line with his promise to put the Council in place to reflect the new ownership status of the University.

Our correspondent gathered that Omole chaired the Oyo State Negotiation Committee on the Sole Ownership of LAUTECH, which worked with its Osun State counterpart to negotiate what has now become an amicable resolution.

Omole is a professor at the Department of Forest Production and Products, University of Ibadan, has a career spanning about 24 years in the university system, DAILY POST gathered.

DAILY POST gathered that Olaniyan is a Professor of Economics at the department of Economics, University of Ibadan.

Ahmad is an indigene of Oyo town, who graduated from the University of Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).

She started her career with C.S. Ola & Co (Chartered Accountants) Ring Road, Ibadan and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992.

Idowu on his own recently retired from the Oyo State Civil Service as a Permanent Secretary.
