Adebayo was reported to have been recuperating after he was operated upon at about 3:00a.m last Thursday and was said to have received four pints of blood. Sources at the hospital told Sunday Vanguard that another of his colleague, Sergeant Sanusi Lanre who also sustained gunshot wound on his hand as a result of the gun battle is still recuperating. Confirming his death when contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka described it as unfortunate saying, “he died at about 11a.m on Friday.”
