Church workers in the Anglican Diocese of Amichi have poured encomiums on The Rt. Rev’d. Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor as he celebrated his 54th birthday recently.
In a ceremony attended by all the church workers, their wives, children and a few other friends, eulogy poured out freely on the Bishop on account of his outstanding legacies of integrity, hard work, commitment to excellence, and the transformation he has brought to lives and society as a whole.
Church workers took their turns in a moment of free speech to capture their personal encounters with Bishop Ikeakor dating back to his pre-episcopal days. They thanked God for the gift of a man like Bishop Ikeakor who has freely laid down his life and resources for the betterment of others and especially church workers and their families serving under his episcopacy.
In his response to the tributes, Bishop Ikeakor thanked his wife, Dame Nkem Ikeakor who organized the event as a surprise birthday package for him. He appreciated the church workers freely expressing their thoughts towards him noting that some of the comments were serious pieces of advice for his edification.
Bishop Ikeakor said that his birthday wish is for God to grant that he will never miss heaven after serving Him here on earth. He assured church workers that he had made a vow to God never to use his episcopacy to intimidate or disadvantage anybody. According to him, any church worker who is sincere and committed to his duties will eventually get his reward in due course.
The occasion featured the cutting of the birthday cake, birthday songs, and fervent prayers for God’s preservation and blessings upon Bishop Ikeakor and his family.
