The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ijesha South, the Rt. Revd. Babatunde Ogunbanwo has said that the plan of God is for his children to have fellowship with him and worship him in truth and in spirit. Stressing that man was created in the image of God to have dominion over everything.
Speaking at the recently concluded Abuja diocesan Lenten meditation program, the Way of the Cross, which was held at the Basilica of Grace, Gudu District, Abuja, on the theme ’the new and living way’ and sub-topic ‘Enter by the Blood of Jesus’, the bishop emphasized that JESUS is the only one with the power to change the life of a man if invited into the life of that man.
“God has invited us into the new and living way in his presence through this program, He has shown us the way of salvation, and we are grateful to him for this privilege this year, brethren, the way of the Lord is perfect, the way of the Lord Is the way of holiness, he is the way the truth and the life”.
Bishop Ogunbanwo described the fellowship with God as being fruitful, Productive, and functional God crowned Man with glory giving Man dominion over Everything on earth to live in abundance. As he urged the congregation to seek God’s presence in their lives. “In God’s presence, we experience cleansing, we experience God’s divine power and holiness”. Stressing that Jesus has shown the way to Salvation and that God’s children are expected to be on that path.
The Bishop Quoting Proverbs 14:2 “Those who Follow the right path fear the Lord; those who take the wrong path despise him”. Spoke on the reasons why many are not in the presence of God, that Man has Lost the presence of God through sin and went in the way of distraction with an example of Adam and Eve who wanted their eyes to be open, they yielded to the devil and lost the presence of God. The bishop persuaded the congregation to be far from sin because it brings shame and curses upon Man.
Bishop Ogunbanwo also implored that God is inviting all to a new and living way in the Blood of Jesus because the blood is significant, and life lies in the Blood. “The Blood of Jesus is required for the atonement of sin; the Blood of Jesus also speaks to us and protects everyone who believes in Him”.
The bishop pushed forward to say when a Christian encounters Jesus, it changes that person’s life and enters a new living way. Adding that sin hinders many Christians from God, describing the gate as a means of support outside Christ than the temple of God itself. As he spoke on the Miracles of Jesus.
