Bishop David Abioye of the Living Faith Church has warned the Federal government against enforcing the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, 2020.

Abioye, who is the second in command to Bishop David Oyedepo, said the CAMA would bring doom to Nigeria if the church and the fathers of faith are sidelined.

Bishop Abioye charged the federal government to leave Oyedepo, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and other men of God alone rather than persecute them.

Addressing his members on Sunday, the clergyman said rather than persecute men of God, the government should ask what they are doing to touch the society.

Buhari had in August 2020 signed the amended Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA Act into law.

Reacting, Oyedepo and some Christian leaders had criticized the government, stressing that the act was aimed at the church.

However, Bishop Abioye while addressing Living Faith church members in Kaduna said: “There are a lot of progress going on in this commission and several other ministries over which wicked people in this nation are unhappy and putting a different kind of rules and laws in place just to stop the church, but they’re already late.

“Take away certain men of God from this nation; everything will be in shambles.

“Every state in Nigeria collects the tax, where is the development? Where are the hospitals? Where are the roads and schools?

“People who are working and making things happen should be appreciated not castigated. Leave Pastor Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo alone.

“Leave all our spiritual fathers alone. Leave our fathers alone. Find out what God is using them to do and if you can’t applaud them, stomach your anger, stomach your reaction, stomach your pain.

“How many private universities do we have that do not go cap in hand to begging money from the government and yet salaries are being paid regularly?”
