Benue Attack: Defence Chief Visits Scene of Massacre in Yelwata

Following the recent massacre in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has arrived in the community to assess the situation firsthand.

The Friday night attack, reportedly carried out by armed herders and bandits, left scores dead and has drawn national attention to the ongoing wave of violence in the region.

General Musa’s visit is part of the military’s response to the repeated assaults on Benue communities. He is also expected to meet with Governor Hyacinth Alia at the Government House in Makurdi before departing the state.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is also scheduled to visit Benue on a working tour.
