Bandits have attacked the popular Bakura College of Agriculture in Zamfara State, abducting an unknown number of students. The assailants invaded the school grounds on Sunday night, shooting sporadically before whisking the Students and Staff away.
It was also discovered that the attackers had a gunfight with some security personnel in the area, which resulted in the deaths of officers. As of press time, the incident’s details were still sketchy. SP Muhammed Shehu, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the unfortunate incident when contacted.
He was unable to provide specifics about the attack, stating that the command would “issue a statement later.” Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, confirmed the incident in a tweet on Monday morning on his verified Twitter handle.
Some security personnel were also killed by the bandits. Another tragedy has occurred. Where are our security apparatuses with all these defence budgets?”
