The Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs. Olu Veŕheijen, has said that the Federal Government reserves the right to pay fuel subsidy intermittently to cushion hardship in the country. Veŕheijen said this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Friday. Earlier, the International Monetary Fund reported that the Nigerian government brought back petroleum subsidies through the back door. Suspected armed herdsmen on Thursday evening, attacked Wandor, Mbaikyor community in the Mbalom Council Ward of Gwer East Local Government Area, LGA of Benue State, killing a retired army officer, and 15 others. A Nigerian Air Force, NAF, Super Mushshak trainer aircraft crashed in Kaduna on Thursday. The Mushshak aircraft crashed at about 2:35 pm. A statement issued by NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, said no casualty was recorded as the two pilots escaped unhurt. “The accident, which occurred at about 3.5 nautical miles from Kaduna Military Airfield, involved two pilots, who were returning from a routine training flight. “Luckily, both pilots came out of the crash unscathed”, the statement said.
