The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it has seized a multi-million naira property belonging to the Bauchi Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed. It said the seizure was pursuant to its powers contained in Section 45 (4) (a-c) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000. But Mohammed cannot face trial yet because he enjoys immunity by virtue of Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution. Heads of tertiary institutions have agreed on a minimum score of 160 for 2020/2021 admissions. They also adopted 120 for polytechnics and 100 for colleges. Speaking during the 2020 policy meeting on admissions, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said no institution is allowed to go below the minimum score pegged for admission. A 19-year-old teenager, Lilian Benedict of Bwaranji ward, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa, died on Sunday after giving birth to triplets. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Borno, says it has recorded about 500 cases of sexual abuse and Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the past five months. Mrs Jummai Mshelia, NHRC’s Coordinator in the state, made the disclosure at a rally to drum support for campaign against rape and other forms of sexual abuse, on Tuesday in Maiduguri. Mshelia lamented that the commission recorded at least three cases of rape on daily basis, while dozens of such cases were under reported in the state. The Court of Appeal Benin has adjourned further hearing in the suit filed by two allies of Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki against the direct mode adopted for the June 22 primary of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the governorship race to Thursday. The suit resumed on Tuesday despite the resignation of Governor Obaseki from the party after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Council of Enugu State Hon Patrick Omeje is dead. He died in the early hours of Tuesday. “He reportedly took ill last week, it was malaria he complained of, nobody expected this kind of news,” a government official stated.
