The abducted Kankara schoolboys who have now regained their freedom, have narrated their ordeal in the hands of their abductors. Speaking to Channels Television on Friday morning after the Governor, Aminu Masari, received them at the state House in Katsina, ‘We ate only once in two Days”, one of the boys told Channels Television. He also said he was not feeling well, adding that they really suffered while in the bush. Another boy said they were made to defecate in the same place that they slept. More to follow.

Bandits have attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH Sanusi Muhammad Asha, along Zaria-Funtua road, killing three policemen and five others. Relatives of the Emir told Channels Television on Friday that the incident happened on Thursday night when the monarch was on his way back to town from Abuja. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation on Wednesday that will allow the state to prosecute people who have received a presidential pardon for the same offense, which could potentially affect associates of President Donald Trump. The bill, which was passed by the state legislature in May, closes New York’s “double jeopardy” legal loophole that protected individuals who are pardoned by a president for federal crimes from being prosecuted at the state level for the same offense. Zamfara State Government has closed down 10 boarding schools in the state to prevent possible abduction of students by bandits. Speaking to journalists at a press conference on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the schools would remain shut until the security improves.
