Joshua Aderinola, a 400 level student of the Department of Physics with Electronics, Ajayi Crowther University in his own way to help prevent the spread of coronavirus has built a solar-powered automatic hand washing, rinsing, and drying Unit, a project supervised by Dr. P. C. Amalu, a Senior Lecturer in the Department.
At the presentation of the project to the Management of the University on Wednesday 20th May 2020, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Students Matters, Mr. Olojede Victor said that it is a thing of joy see that students in the state are rising to contribute their quota to support the government at this trying time.
While receiving the device on behalf of the Management, the Vice-Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Prof. Dapo F. Asaju commended the student and also used the opportunity to appeal to other students to go out and find societal problems they too can solve, hoping that very soon, Ajayi Crowther University’s Faculty of Natural Sciences will find a cure to COVID-19.
Present at the test running of the prototype, is the Vice-Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Prof. Dapo Asaju, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jacob Adeniyi, the Bursar of the University, Pst Samson Olojede, the University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs) Beatrice Fabunmi, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Prof. Ebenezer Olayinka, the Chairman, Committee and Dean of Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Joel Ayodabo, Dean Student Affairs, Prof. O.F. Alabi, the President of the Students Association, Kehinde Timileyin among others.
