Topic: LOVE, FAITH AND CHALLENGES
Text: 2 Thessalonians 1:1-7
1:1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
1:4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and [a]tribulations that you endure,
1:5 which is manifest[b] evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer;
1:6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with [c]tribulation those who trouble you,
1:7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
STUDY:
The Thessalonian Church was founded on the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. It was marked by its growing love for one another and faith. They had a wonderful testimony worthy of emulation. But according 2 Timothy 3:12, the church was tested with persecutions and trials. However, these challenges did not water down their growing faith and love for one another.
It is true that the scripture made us to know that the love of many will grow cold in the last days (Matt. 24: 12), however, we must be determined not to be among “the many.” Those who know their God will do exploit (Dan. 11:32b). God is a God that will judge the world with His unfeigned justice. So, we must leave room for His wrath and not attempt revenge (Rom. 12:19). Ensure that you are steadfast in the faith. That is how you are to play your part. God will keep you and reward you at last, at the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Help me dear Lord, to be an imitator of your love and faith, Amen.
