✝️📖TEXT: JOHN 4:16-19(NKJV)
16. Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17. The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
18. “for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
19. The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
✝️📜STUDY:
The conversation takes a new dimension today. Jesus got at the real need of the woman. He said to her “Go, call your husband, and come here. “The woman answered that she had no husband. Jesus commended her for a true answer. He gave her details of her supposedly ‘private life.’ She perceived that Jesus was a prophet, for He told her everything about her past and present in that life- changing encounter at Jacob’s well. How could a man have known her this well? She must have wondered! This perhaps is quite instructive for us today.
God is the Omniscient; we do not need to hide anything from Him; He already knows everything about us. God knows about your present brokenness, pains, silent struggles, frustrations, disappointments, delays, unfulfilled dreams, marital struggles, academic failures, career limitations, etc., – He knows them all! The good news is this: God is not only interested in knowing all these: He is committed and more than able to mend the broken pieces of our life. Ask Him to take over and see what He will make out of your life today. The Hymn writer reminds us: ‘Oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.’ In 1 Peter 5:7, the Scriptures admonish thus, “casting all your cares on Him, because He cares for you.”
