2023 ELECTION: Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Sets Agenda for Presidential Candidates

The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has made some demands to political parties and their candidates at all levels in the 2023 general polls.

The Church called on candidates who will emerge winners at various positions to look into critical issues facing the country and profound solutions to them.
Issues that include; insecurity, Education, infrastructure, and basic amenities, among others.

Minimum demands of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion from the political parties and their Candidates at all levels in the 2023 general elections

  1. End all forms of Insecurity in all parts of Nigeria
  2. Priorities education at all levels; increase investments and end strikes
  3. Mainstream healthcare delivery-make universal health coverage the target
  4. Economic recovery: Remove wastes, curb inflation, strengthen the Naira, enhance productivity, and provide opportunities for prosperity of all
  5. Ensure the Rule of Law; uphold rights of citizens and ensure justice and equity
  6. Ensure equitable distribution of opportunities Including political appointments and employment opportunities; adopt best practices in governance
  7. Provide functional infrastructure and amenities; ensure speedier completion of projects for public good
  8. Harness partnerships and Investments in critical infrastructure such as steel, textile, agro-based Industries and Refineries for speedier national development.
  9. Initiate National rebirth through ethical and value re-orientation, accountability and transparency in governance, adequate reward for performance and honesty and appropriate sanctions for wrong doing
  10. Promote national unity and peaceful coexistence, abolish mutual suspicions, paranoia and build a nation where no one is oppressed.
