Despite failing to take Nigeria’s D’Tigers to the expected position, head coach Mike Brown is keen on staying on with the team beyond the Olympic games.
Brown, an associated coach in the NBA with Golden State Warriors was appointed in 2020 to take charge of the team and .
The Nigeria senior men’s basketball team showed promises before the ancient Games by winning high profile friendly games but were unable to replicate same form at the finals.
The position of Brown will come under scrutiny immediately after the Games.
He has made his intention known while speaking to ESPN that he want to remain with the Nigeria side.
“I love being a part of Nigeria basketball and I truly hope the people of Nigeria continue to accept me the way they have because I do think that we can build something special because hurdles like this are going to come up and hopefully we will keep trying to find ways too get around them,” Brown said.
“I enjoy this, and I am looking forward to the day that we are on top,” he said.
