Matt 25:24-30

 Aims

to narrate the meaning and works of the slothful from biblical perspective

to describe how slothfulness can endanger a Christian on the path to God’s kingdom.

 Introduction

Slothfulness simply means unwillingness to work or do something that can bring progress and goodness to the body of Christ. The central point of the Talent’s parable is the importance of being a faithful servant of all that God has entrusted to one’ scare. However, the third servant in our text today, was slothful and therefore became unproductive. He ended as a condemned person.

 Study Guide

From today’s text, define slothfulness and relate your answer to your Church congregation.

With reference to Prov 26:13-15, Matt 21:28-31 how can you narrate the behaviours of a slothful person with reference to our society.

How can a Christian be slothful? and what is the fate of the slothful in heaven? Matt 25:41-46

How can we conquer the spirit of slothfulness as pilgrims to the kingdom of God? Matt 28:18-20; Joh 9:4; 2Tim 4:1-2.

 Conclusion

Using one’s God’s-given abilities and talents wisely and productively is a vital aspect of discipleship and will be rewarded with additional opportunities to serve God faithfully and fruitfully.
