Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia JP. has charged Christians that they should strive to enter into the presence of God and not just be in church. He gave this charge while delivering the sermon on Sunday 15th January 2023 at Immanuel Anglican Church, Turuja; during his episcopal visit.

Taking his text from Psalm 15, Bishop Atuboyedia told Christians that being in church does not necessarily qualify as being in the presence of God. Rather, there are certain conditions that have to be fulfilled before one can be considered as being in God’s presence.

Chief amongst these is to walk uprightly, deal righteously, speak the truth from a sincere heart, do no evil, take no reproach against anyone, not support evil, honour people that fear God, fulfill promises, not take advantage of people through loans, and accept no bribe.

Bishop Atuboyedia also stated, amongst others, that the church is not a social gathering. Hence, only people who live like God can be considered members of the church. Others are that Christians should stop the art of tale-bearing and properly score themselves on their style of communication.
