In a major operation, the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two wanted criminals linked to human trafficking and armed robbery abroad.

Felix Omoregie, also known as Eghosa Johnson Omoregie, was captured in Benin City, Edo State. Wanted by Belgian authorities since 2021, Omoregie had been convicted in absentia for masterminding a human trafficking ring.

According to police reports, his group trafficked Nigerian women, including underage girls, to Italy and other European countries for sexual exploitation. Victims were bound by fake debts ranging from €20,000 to €50,000 and forced to take voodoo oaths to keep them trapped in the cycle.

Police said Omoregie coordinated with handlers in France and Belgium, who controlled the victims and sent their earnings back to him. During his arrest, authorities discovered documents, including a passport copy linked to a planned trip to Canada.

In a separate operation, Okwudili Ezeje was arrested in Nsukka, Enugu State, with assistance from INTERPOL. Ezeje, who is wanted in the United Arab Emirates for armed robbery, drug trafficking, and cultism, led several robberies in Dubai and Sharjah. Investigators claim he continued his criminal activities from Nigeria after fleeing the UAE.

Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the arrests were made possible through collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser and Dubai Police. Both suspects will soon face charges in court.
