On Monday, Donald Trump plans to issue an executive order delaying the TikTok ban and has proposed that the United States take a 50% ownership stake in the app’s American subsidiary.
“I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture,” Trump shared on his Truth Social platform. He explained that the executive order would provide additional time before the video-sharing app’s ban takes effect, allowing a deal to be reached.
Trump suggested a joint venture involving the app’s current owners or new buyers, ensuring a 50% ownership stake for the U.S. in the proposed arrangement.
