Esther Walson-Jack has been sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, marking the end of Yemi-Esan’s tenure.

Yemi-Esan was initially appointed as the acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation by former President Muhammadu Buhari on September 18, 2019, following the suspension of Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita.

Reflecting on her time in office during a Town Hall meeting organized by the Joint Union Negotiating Council (JUNC) in her honor, Yemi-Esan said, “I thank God for the opportunity to serve my country. I never imagined becoming the Head of Service of the Federation, but it was the hand of God that made it possible. I also want to express my gratitude to former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu, who made my work easier.

“My transformative Permanent Secretaries also played a crucial role with their dedication and hard work, providing the necessary support.”
