Due to a technical glitch, Delta Air Lines has postponed its noon flight from Lagos to Atlanta.

On Friday, the airline announced a temporary halt on all flights while addressing a widespread IT outage linked to Microsoft’s cloud services. This global disruption has affected various sectors, including aviation.

At Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, officials are waiting for updates from Atlanta to determine the new departure time. “No signals have been received yet, so the flight will not depart as originally scheduled,” an unnamed official told The PUNCH.

Delta has promised to notify affected passengers through the Fly Delta app and text messages. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience and urged travelers to use the app for the latest updates.

The outage has also impacted other airlines. Turkish Airlines reported canceling 84 flights due to the disruption, and its low-cost carrier, AJet, faced issues with online booking and customer service.

Additionally, Hong Kong’s airport and the UK’s largest rail operator have encountered delays. Sydney Airport is experiencing long queues, and train cancellations may occur.

Microsoft is actively working to resolve the issues, with ongoing improvements reported.
