South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron was discovered dead in her Seoul residence on Sunday, according to police reports.
“She was found dead, and there are no signs of foul play,” a police official told AFP, without disclosing further details. The 24-year-old actress was reportedly found by a friend on Sunday evening, who then alerted authorities, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Kim gained widespread recognition for her role in the 2010 film The Man from Nowhere, where she portrayed a kidnapped child rescued by a former special forces agent. Her performance earned her the Best New Actress award at the Korean Film Awards.
Throughout her career, Kim showcased versatility across various roles, earning multiple accolades. However, her rising career took a downturn following a 2022 drunk-driving incident, for which she was fined 20 million won ($13,800). The controversy led to widespread public backlash, making it difficult for her to secure new acting opportunities.
