Rising Stars: Ikorodu City and Nasarawa United Amongst Four Secure NPFL Promotion

Ikorodu City will be making their debut appearance in the country’s premier football league after securing their slot alongside three other teams following the NNL Super 8 playoff. This marks a historic moment for Ikorodu City, as they step onto the national stage of Nigerian football for the first time in their history. Their remarkable achievement reflects their determination and hard work throughout the season.

Four teams – Ikorodu City, Nasarawa United, Elkanemi Warriors, and Beyond Limits – have earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). This achievement marks a significant milestone for these clubs, showcasing their talent, determination, and dedication throughout the season. Each team has demonstrated exceptional skill and resilience to secure their place in the prestigious NPFL, representing different regions and bringing diverse stories of success to Nigerian football.

Ikorodu City will be stepping onto the stage of the country’s premier football league for the first time in their history, alongside three other deserving teams, following their success in the NNL Super 8 playoff.

In the Southern Conference of the NNL, Ikorodu City and Beyond Limits emerged as the top two teams, securing their places in the NPFL. Their outstanding performances throughout the season demonstrated their dominance in the southern region.

Similarly, in the Northern Conference, Elkanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United finished atop the table, earning their promotion to the NPFL. Elkanemi Warriors secured their spot by defeating Sokoto United 4-1, finishing second in the playoff with six points.

Nasarawa United clinched their place in the NPFL by defeating Sporting Supreme 2-1, finishing with nine points in the playoff. These victories highlight the resilience and determination of these teams to secure their spots in the top tier of Nigerian football.

Both sides from the Northern Conference were relegated from the NPFL last season.
