The Archbishop Metropolitan, and Primate of All Nigeria, His Grace, the Most Revd. Dr. Henry Ndukuba, has admonished Nigerians, most especially Christians, not to be downcast or depressed over the result of the just concluded presidential election.

It would be recalled that despite the agitations from Nigerians over the inconsistency in the election results, the electoral umpire, Independence National Electoral Commision, INEC, declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC, candidate, the winner of the 2023 presidential election, as the certificate of return was presented to him, later in the day.

Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 6,984,520 to emerge second and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who scored 6,101,533 to upset the usual election result came third.

Speaking at the foundation laying of the St. Philip’s Anglican Church Vicarage building, Gwarimpa in Abuja, the Primate reading from the book of Hosea chapter 6, called on Christians not to be worry over the turn out things, stressing that no matter the issues of live, God will never abandon his children.

Primate Ndukuba further discouraged those planning to move out of the country because of the happening, except God’s leading, as he congratulated winners of the elections.

“We woke up to the news of the announcement of the winner of the presidential election, brothers and sisters, God is still God.

As the Lord lives, the heathen, the uncircumcised, will not ask us where is our God. For in this season, He will do what he has proposed to do.

“I am encouraged as I pondered on what we woke up to. The word of the Lord that came to me is in

Hosea 6:1-3 “

“It is well with our soul, don’t be down-casted. Nigeria will never remain the same. Just as some are rejoicing, but all I know is that, it is well with Nigeria. It is well with you. This robbery will not continue.

“God has started a thing and he will surely finish it. Don’t give up.

If there’s anything, know that the end is in sight. How it will come, I don’t know. So, one thing I know, is that the Lord wants us to continually hold unto him.

“Come, let us return unto the Lord, Let us hold unto him, though right now there may be a kind of tearing, striking, somethings that may even cause you to give up, and some may have even begin to think how they may even move out of the country. Don’t go anywhere, except the Lord ask you to move.

There will be revival, there will be restoration, there will be upliftment, God will raise us up again, no matter who is in the Aso rock villa.

“As we hold unto the Lord, be assured of this, as sure as the rising of the sun, so sure is God helping his own.

“We congratulate the winners in this election, especially those of the National Assembly, because we have new faces coming in, so we believe it will not be business as usual. We wish them well.

Please, do not be depressed, you have not lost anything, rather, we have gained more” he added.
