Returning to Nigeria in the early hours of Friday, President Tinubu had previously embarked on a brief work visit to France, departing for the European country on Monday.
The President decided to cut his trip short to address an important matter at home. This morning, he is scheduled to preside over the swearing-in ceremony for the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, at the Council Chambers in the State House.
Justice Kekere-Ekun’s appointment comes as she succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on Thursday upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. The transition of leadership in the judiciary marks a significant event for the Nigerian legal system, as President Tinubu ensures a smooth handover to the incoming Chief Justice.
