In a bid to address the rising tensions, President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians, especially the youths organizing a national protest over the high cost of living, to abandon their plans, emphasizing that such action is unnecessary.

He assured them that their grievances have been acknowledged and that he is committed to addressing their concerns effectively.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared the President’s message while speaking with State House correspondents after his meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Idris noted that during their discussion, the President highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the nation’s economic situation and reaffirmed his dedication to long-term progress.

“He requested me to relay to Nigerians, particularly the protesting youths, that he is attentive to their concerns and is working diligently to enhance the country’s economic prospects,” Idris stated.

The President, according to Idris, does not see the need for the planned protest and has asked the youths to wait for the government’s response, assuring them that their concerns are being taken seriously.
