Former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Prof. Jerry Gana, underscored the crucial role of individual transformation in Nigeria’s journey to success.

Speaking at the Grand Finale of the 2024 Champion of Champions National Bible Quiz Competition in Abuja, Gana emphasized that the nation’s prosperity hinges on the moral and spiritual renewal of its citizens.

Highlighting the importance of adhering to God’s Word, Gana argued that such adherence is essential for both personal and national transformation. He called on Nigerians to pray for their leaders, asserting that effective leadership is key to national development. According to Gana, “Mediocre leadership breeds mediocre results, while good leadership fosters good governance, development, and prosperity.”

Gana also addressed the current challenges facing the nation, expressing that Nigerians are weary of poverty and the ongoing difficulties. He urged leaders to act with integrity and responsibility to drive the nation toward positive change and development.

Archbishop Emeka Agwu, President of Voice of Evangelism International, echoed Gana’s sentiments, painting a grim picture of the nation’s current state. He lamented the prevalence of ungodliness and evil practices, warning that the End Time is near. Agwu called for deeper Bible studies to cultivate true Christian knowledge and understanding, and he criticized the government for the persistent poverty and hunger despite Nigeria’s abundant resources. He urged national leaders to collaborate with God in addressing the nation’s challenges.

Ven. Princewill Ireoba, Chairman of the Planning Committee and Director of Ecumenism and Interfaith at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), emphasized the role of unity among Christians in achieving national transformation. He praised CAN’s initiatives, such as Bible quizzes, for fostering unity and promoting God’s Word as the foundation for national success. The event brought together representatives from various churches across Nigeria to engage in a Bible Quiz competition, reinforcing the importance of God’s Word in the nation’s progress.
