Mobile Policemen in Delta State rescued a 35-year-old man on Wednesday from an angry mob in the Okumagba area of Warri South Local Government Area after he was accused of stealing a keyboard from a church.
The suspect endured brutal mob justice, with attackers placing a motor tyre around his neck and parading him through the streets. Witnesses described the gruesome scene, noting the man’s bloodied head and multiple injuries. The mob was reportedly preparing to set him ablaze when the police intervened.
The man was taken to the Police “B” Division, where authorities promised to investigate the incident further and identify any alleged accomplices. The church involved in the alleged theft has yet to be identified.
