Relief swept through social media on Saturday as Fijabi Oyindamola Omotayo confirmed that her missing son, Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student of Babcock University, had been found.
Omotayo, who had earlier raised alarm online with a passionate plea for assistance, shared the reassuring news in a brief Facebook update: “My son has been found.”
Her emotional live video appeal, broadcast earlier that day, had quickly gained traction, prompting public concern and calls for action from security agencies.
She explained in the video that she had dropped her son off at the university on Sunday, April 27, but had been unable to contact or locate him afterward.
Babcock University later confirmed the student’s recovery.
Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of Marketing and Communications at the institution, responded via WhatsApp on Sunday, saying, “Yes, we are aware,” in reference to the update on Omotayo’s page.
As of now, the circumstances surrounding Siwajuola’s disappearance and return have not been made public.
