An event focused on Christian outreach, known as UniteUS, drew an assembly of more than 8,000 university students on a Tuesday evening at the University of Tennessee.

The ministry, which targets Generation Z, is an evangelistic outreach geared towards presenting the gospel in multiple college campuses. Their latest stop was at the Thompson-Boling Arena inside the Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, according to its own report.

The ministry stated that roughly 500 students committed to the message of salvation, with numerous individuals undergoing baptism immediately outside the venue.

“We are utterly astonished by what the Lord accomplished this evening at the University of Tennessee, witnessing over 8,000 students convened to glorify the name of Jesus and recording more than 500 decisions for Christ,” a video statement from UniteUS read.

The excitement is not confined to the Knoxville campus; students are also sharing testimonies about the profound spiritual impact among their peers. One student, in a video shared widely online, declared, “We witnessed hundreds get baptized tonight. [We] saw thousands transformed in the name of Jesus. A fresh movement is emerging in this generation, and UniteUS plays a significant role in it.”

As previously documented by CBN News, the UniteUS initiative launched in September 2023 at Auburn University, where five thousand attendees gathered and 200 were spontaneously baptized in a nearby body of water.

Tonya Prewett, the founder and evangelist for UniteUS, reflected on the movement, telling CBN News, “When God first impressed the vision for Unite Auburn upon me, I could never have foreseen what was to come.” She added, “I recall standing among thousands of students praising God during the baptisms after the Auburn event and thinking, ‘How can this possibly stop?’ And it hasn’t. He continues to do it, time after time.”

The spiritual resurgence has rapidly expanded. Jennie Allen of the “IF: Gathering,” a frequent speaker at these rallies, expressed her amazement on Instagram regarding the divine activity across college campuses. “Yes!!! God persists in doing it,” she commented on footage of the event.

Allen recently shared with CBN News Digital that the ministry leaders are experiencing what feels like a contemporary miracle. “This whole thing is simply a miracle,” Allen remarked. “So many young people step forward, acknowledge sin, commit to following Jesus, and we are typically baptizing well into the morning hours,” she detailed. “It’s unlike anything I have ever observed. It’s beyond anything I was ever bold enough to pray for… until recently.”

She observed the scene: “You can see clusters of young people throughout the stadium, wiping tears, affirming, praying, holding one another. It is incredibly moving and courageous.”

The driving force behind these students’ total dedication to Jesus is straightforward: the pure, undiluted Gospel.

Prewett urged the students at the University of Tennessee, “Repent of your wrongdoings,” adding, “Repent for the sins of this campus, for the city, and our nation. Let’s break free from those things, and we are simply going to surrender everything to Jesus and commit entirely.”

Testimonies are frequently given in makeshift baptismal tubs before students are submerged—a symbolic act representing the burial of their old, sinful life alongside Christ. “I never felt worthy to step into this basin and then pursue a life after [of] constant wrongdoing,” one student confessed before being immersed. “I realize I will never achieve perfection. I will always be imperfect, but I intend to be an imperfect person chasing after my Jesus, every single day.”

Many others voiced their praise online, describing the worship night as extraordinary. “What an unbelievable night. GOD IS SO WONDERFUL,” posted a user named Sofia on Instagram. Another commented, “All glory belongs to the only one deserving… All praise to King JESUS.”

UniteUS projected, “Jesus is actively working in Generation Z, and this marks only the beginning.”
